Hello!
*Please check the "Photos" tab for some pictures of recent activities. *Please turn in your field trip permissions slip as soon as possible. *A fourth grade student did a research project on Anna Marie's Shelter and why women and children go there and how we can help them. She reached out to them and found out they are in need of the following items: pillow cases, baby bottles, lotion, wash towels, nail polish, robes, diapers, toiletries (deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste), hair brushes, and detergent. If you wish to donate, please send your donation with your child and they can drop it off at her classroom. Thanks! Have a great weekend.

Hello!
*This week we will have our spelling test and Speak-up on Friday. *The spelling patterns that we are working on this week in reading are very difficult (er, ir, ur, or...all making the sounds "er" as in her) On the back of the worksheets this week are words and sentences for fluency practice. Please take some extra time to read these and give the spelling words extra practice. *For the next two weeks, we will be working on geometry in math. We will talk about 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional shapes. Please have your child bring in a few objects that can be left in our "Shapes Museum" for several days. The objects should not be valuable or breakable. Here are a few ideas....something that has a triangle, circle, or a square in it. *Please check out the "Photos" tab for a few pictures of the kids reading to Frankie the French Bulldog. Frankie is a therapy dog that visits the Albany Public Library and you can sign up to read to him there. *Please continue to send snow pants and boots with your child even as the snow begins to melt next week. The playground will be very muddy when things start to thaw. I also suggested to the kids that they have a pair of extra mittens/gloves and socks with to change into if needed. Thanks! |
