Please bring a swimsuit, towel, and a life jacket (if you have one, we have a few extras, but not many). Please see the letter below for more information. Wednesday, June 2: Outdoor Activity Day: In the afternoon, we will rotate through some activities outside. Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen and a hat (optional). ***Please make sure your child has tennis shoes. Thursday, June 3: Last Day & Library (NEW). In the morning we will walk to the library for an outdoor presentation. Please make sure your child has tennis shoes, a water bottle & sunscreen or a hat (optional). ********************* Dear Families: We are thrilled to share that we are able to walk to Albany High School Pool on June 1st. As a former Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard, it is absolutely acceptable for children to watch others while sitting on the pool deck, practice using the pool ladder to enter and exit the pool and/or hold onto the side and practice kicking and blowing bubbles. No stress. Only one class will swim at a time. Each class will change into swimsuits at Albany Elementary School and walk to the pool directly with towels and sandals/shoes. We will have 30 minutes to explore, play and swim with a certified lifeguard present. Please send a lifejacket with your child. Remember, this field trip is more about experiencing the pool atmosphere than learning how to swim or even swimming at all. Students will return directly to Albany Elementary and change back into clothes. Since students are not showering before they swim, we've been asked to communicate with parents that students shouldn't wear lotions or hair products as this can mess with the chemical balance of the pool. Thank you, Mrs. Hoeschen (former Swim Teacher) Mrs. Steve Mrs. Friedrichs Mrs. Rubin ************************************* Thank You, Thank You, Thank you! It wasn't easy, but it was worth it! We've almost made it through another year. The kids were positive, showed perseverance, and learned a lot despite what they had thrown at them. Thanks for all you've done to support them and me through the year. Sara Friedrichs

Each year we collect money from the three elementary schools to purchase goodies which will then be brought to Anna Marie’s Shelter for the women and children. With the predicament that these families are in, they often can not afford basic necessities. The goal of this fundraiser is to improve the quality of life for these women and children. The students are asked to donate any amount they deem appropriate-- even 50 cents really adds up if they all participate! Donations will be collected through Friday, May 14th. *Friday, May 14 (next week): At Home Learning Day (no live teaching). Speak-up & the spelling test will be on Thursday, May 13. |
